THE PC110 HAS BEEN SOLD.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am getting rid of my last PC110. It's currently listed on ebay. It's a 2341-YDW model, with the viper drive and the 16mb RAM upgrade. The laptop comes with all the original packaging, bells and whistles. It's in museum condition! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330343235382 I'm asking $600 OBO on ebay. I would be willing to sell it outside of feeBay for less if anyone here at Pocketables is interested. BTW, I'm really bad about checking for PMs, so if you're interested, post here that you've PMed me. Thanks! Last edited by teh.sean; 07-11-2009 at 04:38 AM. |

Man, that brings back some memories...
Too bad it is limited to Win98, but maybe something like Ubuntu would work on it. How does the size compare to the original Toshiba libretto? |

WOW! The memories...I had one of these back in '94. The pc110 is what started my umpc craze and its definitely a classic. I'm sure you'll find a good home for it. I sold mine and bought a Toshiba libretto 50. Then went to a 70, then a 110, Then a Sony Picturebook C1VN, Sony ux280, ux490,Acer Netbook,Raon Everun,Sony Vaio P....
Hello, I'm Supergadgetman and I'm an addict! Nice first post huh??

It's smaller than the libretto. Well, it's more square than the libretto. The screen is a little smaller, but the keyboard is _much_ smaller than the lib.
Funny you mention the libretto, I have some of those up on eBay right now too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330343226390 In general, I've had the same progression: PC110, Libretto, Picturebook, PCG-U1, Zaurus, Everun Note, and many others. . . http://www.livesmallbag.com/tech/ has a list of most of the stuff I've been through. |

With the 20mb of RAM, and if it were overclocked to 40 mhz, the best currently maintained OS for the PC110 would probably be OpenBSD or NetBSD. I've run OpenBSD on a Lib50 with 16mb of RAM, no optimizations needed. Boot it off of a microdrive using a PCMCIA - Compact Flash adapter and it would probably be a pretty slick setup.
Crap, I'd better not ponder this anymore or I might be convinced to keep it! |

Boy does this ever take me back too!
I started off though with an HP 95LX which I still have and then a 200LX which I still have and use. Does anyone remember running GeoWorks on these back then? The forerunner to Windows and AOL all in one windowing environment and it will run on an XT which is what the HP's are. I also progressed to Libretto's and HP OmniBooks which were truly ahead of their time. Back then machines were built to last. I sort of miss the PC110 speaking of this...... Ed |

I have a PC110 I'd be willing to sell; it's been slightly modified on the CF door to accept Microdrives. It's all original with original box and accessories. The LCD cable seems to be loose, as sometimes opening the hinge will cause some slight issues on the lcd, but a little jiggling always gets it back working. Probably can be fixed by opening up and tightening, but I've never tried. Mine also has a rare red shell cover. LMK if interested, will go find pics. Would like to get $300 obo.
