Default DROID

So, anyone scoop this one up? The reviews thus far look solid. I'm considering taking the plunge. The Android 2.0 OS looks promising. Thoughts? Opinions?

You could get one and give us a nice review . I would consider getting droid if you could get it in Finland. And also I've decided not to get a new phone until next summer as I can't justify getting a new phone in less than a year from last one. Also next summer= next summer job = more money = new toys .

I got one when my local store opened at 6am yesterday. I am very impressed by the hardware and pretty pleased with Android 2.0, although I do miss some of the features brought to Android by HTC's Sense interface.

I was especially happy that I found the keyboard not to be as bad as many reviews indicated. It's not the best I've used, but it is quite serviceable. I do like having the on-screen keyboards available when I don't feel like sliding open the device.

The screen (854x480) is stunning. I can view many web sites fully without problem. Add to this the fact that the Droid itself runs very quickly and Verizon's 3G is excellent, at least where I am in Philadelphia, and the experience of browsing is superb. Of course, I also have the Wifi option.

I did get the media station, which is the little docking station for the Droid. At $30, which is what the car mount also costs, it was an easy choice. I have a dedicated GPS, so am not rushing to buy the car mount.

If anyone has specific questions I've not covered, please let me know.

Sweet, make sure to give us some more impressions after you've put it through the paces in depth.

Mine should be here this afternoon. I'll drop down some impressions when I have them.
