I searched these forums and googled the net, but I can't find where one can get a headphone adapter to go from the tta plug to normal headphone jack. The mbook Korean site doesn't even show one as an accessory.
I would like to move beyond the included headphones, and I didn't see an adapter with my black M1. |

I did ask Dynamism. They were no help:
"Unfortunately the UMID mbook M1 does not have an adapter available anymore for the headphone port built into the device." |

Well, if you can't find it, build it!
The specs for the TTA adapter are here on pocketables. If you could find just any old 20 pin TTA adapter with the right pins in, you could make an adapter yourself. Certain pins need to be connected to tell the UMID your adapter is for headphones though. I don't remember which pins but it should be in the spec. |

It's not so easy doing google-foo to try to find a tta-20pin connector piece part.
Does anyone thing that the Samsung m20 cell phone connector would work, here are several examples I found. It's 20 pins and flat and looks like it might be a TTA. http://www.totallycellphones.com/sa20headto2j.html http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...ingid=51306308 http://www.totallycellphones.com/sam2ceheadto.html |

The SAMSUNG head phone adapter cannot be used: it has the correct size but all 20 pins are on the same side of the plug whereas the M1/TTA connector has 10 pins on the upper side of the plug and 10 pins on the lower side of the plug.

I gave up and replaced the M1 earplugs with a 3.5mm connector. I'll have to resume research when I loose that home-made adaptor... |

Okay, thanks, I guess I got prematurely excited after a long google search for connectors/adapters.
By replacing the headphones, do you mean you hacked the included headphones to remove the earbuds and instead soldered in a 3.5 in adapter? That might be doable. I had been hoping to keep the existing headphones intact, but maybe I'll try this. Thanks. |

Exactly. Be careful, however, to always plug the earphones into the adapter first, then the adapter into the M1 to avoid shortcuts. Perhaps that's the reason for UMID no longer selling a headphone adapter...
