- "pocketability" (less than 350 g, less than 16*9*2.3 cm)
- "readability" (screen not smaller than 4.8", with a software allowing to zoom in/out) - connectivity (wifi, BT, 3G at least as an option) - flexibility of a full, opened OS with a lot of applications available - expandability (memory card slot) - "dockability" (at least 2 USB and 1 VGA ports) - no heat, no noise AND an usable keyboard ! Even if a touchtyping one, because of the form factor. |

Screen size, it needs to be visible!
Not one of those 1024*800 5 inch screens. Processing power Battery life |

Ok here's my input:
A) Size, it has to be POCKETABLE (hence my presence on this site), this means nothing bigger than an OQO or UMID. The Vaio P isn't a pocketable in my book. B) Battery time, it is a must to have it in the 4-6 hour range, the 1-2.5 hr range is just not acceptable for me. C) Keyboard the device has to have a real keyboard and at least FIVE rows, not the three or four you seen on so many mobile devices. D) OS needs to be a full OS, I can live with either WinXP or OS X as I can install Win on a virtual mode on OS X also. For me Linux won't cut it due to my needs. E) Touch screen is NOT a must for me as in reality on the go it sometimes hinders more than it helps unless it's redone from the scratch up like on the iPhone, trying to use WinXP on a 5" with touch screen get to be very hard on the go, so while touch screen is nice, I really would refer a touch pad or optical mouse (a'la Everun Note) After have owned a variety of pocketable computers like Sony, OQO, Aigo etc, I have come to the conclusion that I really prefer a clamshell due to nyumber of things 1. You get a compact device when closed, yet double the "real estate" when opened 2. Automatically protected when closed. 3. Has a more practical way of setting it down on a surface while doing something else. This fantasy device is still one of my favorites from here.
