Hi,

I only came across this forum after I had already downgraded my European P series to XP. I never had the chance to copy over the public folder it was too late.

Can anybody post a link so I can install on my P series so I can have instant on enabled on my lappy.

Thanks

Right I managed to install the latest version of instant on. However, I still need the contents of the public folder for it to work.

Can anyone host these for me please?

If you tell me what folder you need exactly from my vista business install i'll put it online. You can spend that 15 pound in the pub

Many thanks Nick.

I am after the folder within public that has the files for the instant on and also the wallpaper images.

I'm not exactly sure what folder has the instant on contents.

Maybe someone can advise what folders I need?

This is great news. I have reinstalled Windows on my P13G and everything appears to work except the brightness keys. Anyone else tried this yet and found how to get that going??

Thanks

the only thing that doesn't work with the official Sony Vaio P XP Drivers is the zoom in and zoom out keys. after installing the XP, install the service pack 3and follow the sequence of the driver/software installation, according to their numbers. you can also install the instant On Mode but you first you have to create a User folder on Drive C and inside the user folder create a Public folder and inside the Public folder create the following folders, Music, Videos, Pictures, and Favorites.

For me it wasn't necessary to create these folders. I upgraded the BIOS to Version R2060U3, installed Windows XP SP3, then Sony drivers and applications and finally Instant Mode Version 2.0.0. Instant mode uses the standard Windows XP folders My Pictures, My Music and My Documents. But i have to say that i don't use Instant Mode, because Windows XP boots really fast with the SSD drive.

Zoom Keys (F9 and F10) don't work plus i cannot assign the "Tile Windows Vertically" function in VAIO Control Center > S Button Settings > S2. But there's a workaround by running a VBS-Script when pressing the S2 Button. Finally the Noise Canceling function for the headphones is not supported.

Everything else is fine.
